In the market for a new head unit for the Magnum. Stock one sucks and I have a full system sitting in my basement just waiting to get installed. Looking for something CarPlay ready, 6 pre-outs (high voltage) and not breaking the bank. Pretty much settled on the Pioneer AVH-4100NEX. Not too expensive, all the toys I could want, nice looking and a good brand.

This will be hooked up to the following:

Polk Audio DB component speakers, 6.5” round
Infinity Kappa Perfect 12VQ sub (2)
JL Audio speaker amp
JBL sub amp
Tsunami capacitor hooked up to the JBL amp.

Took everything out of the Stratus when I sold that and got the beater XJ a year ago. Plan will be to make some custom fiberglass sub enclosures to fit in the pockets on either side of the hatch. Considering buying these would be about $600 for the pair, I think I’m going go try my luck w/ making my own.

Pic for reference.

Anyways, whats everyone else on here rocking? I can’t be the only one that likes sound performance as well as engine performance! Best of both worlds!

How hard is it to find car audio equipment? Most cars have good enough audio systems now that an upgrade wouldn’t really be needed, and I’ve noticed a lot of stores have stopped carrying stuff.

Have one of these mounted on the floor behind the drivers seat. Nobody sits in the back seat and I can get dubstep back massages.

Theres plenty of audio shops around. Only way I wouldn’t upgrade a stock audio setup is if it controls alot of other things in the car.

I never planned on having my Aveo long, but replaced all the speakers with I a week of owning it. HK infinities in the back from my old car, and cheap as shit sound ordinance P4's in the front I got for 25$. Stock head unit and it sounds pretty damn good

I'm picking up my new WRX today didn't fool with the stereo on the test drive, we'll see how long it takes me to replace the speakers... The HK's are definitely not going with the Aveo when I sell it and I believe they do fit the stock location of the WRX

Crutchfield. Easy. There are still some audio only shops around but the internet is winning out. Best thing about an actual shop is you can play with the head unit first! I’m trying to find that Pioneer unit somewhere so I can get a hands on feel for it.

Mine on the Stratus started out innocently enough. Subwoofer, amp and basic head unit. Then a new head unit went in, and then a second sub. Then my friend was selling a set of component speakers, so I got another set and an amp and cap. The Kicker system in the Magnum is shit and the sup vibrates more than it actually makes noise......its time after 4 years of putting up with it.

I originally wanted a sub when I got my first car but once I got the components and head unit in it sounded so good I decided to keep my money and trunk space.
